but expensive.
Bring lots of euros.

Sometimes everything works out when you travel, but this is a case of that not happening. I guess for there to be awesome travel one must at one point suffer bad or mediocre travel.

It is not the same as your case, but I have had unpleasant visit as well to Paris few weeks ago. The city can be very horrific for one who doesn’t speak French and a first-timer! LOL.

I don’t really know why I went to Paris. As you say Nicolas, there would have been easier places to get a job. Lack of logical thinking I suppose. And you are quite right, I have never since attempted to find work in Paris

It’s funny that you had the guts to leave at the age of 19 and the convincing skills to talk someone into getting you illegally on the channel crossing, but that your trip fails on something like the language barrier.
And maybe even funnier that if you had traveled only 300 or 400 kilometers more to the East, language wouldn’t have been a problem because in Belgium and the Netherlands about everyone speaks English.

It’s a good thing that this did not scare you from traveling, but it’ll probably make you think twice the next time you’re planning to look for a job in Paris.
