It is not the same as your case, but I have had unpleasant visit as well to Paris few weeks ago. :-) The city can be very horrific for one who doesn’t speak French and a first-timer! LOL.

I don’t really know why I went to Paris. As you say Nicolas, there would have been easier places to get a job. Lack of logical thinking I suppose. And you are quite right, I have never since attempted to find work in Paris :-)

And maybe even funnier that if you had traveled only 300 or 400 kilometers more to the East, language wouldn’t have been a problem because in Belgium and the Netherlands about everyone speaks English.

It’s a good thing that this did not scare you from traveling, but it’ll probably make you think twice the next time you’re planning to look for a job in Paris.
