I know (have friends) how it’s like to work 24/7. But as you Poi, point out it’s a very big distance from “We have an emergency” to a real emergency situation. Unfortunately in time some people that offer 24/7 support think that the calls with “it’s an emergency” can be ignored for hours – or the entire weekend – not considering them as real important issues.

Thanks Poi. I share your frustrations (and Lori’s too). Having been on-call at weekends before it never ceased to amaze me what some people thought was worthy of an ‘emergency’ call. Glad you’ve managed to escape.

This reminds me of my job before this trip, on call 24/7. At a bar with friends and having to step outside and talk to people who couldn’t uderstand out of office hours for emergency situations only, not fun. No more though
